Furnishing Your New Home Everything you need |
|
|
Now that you have bought your dream home, how are you going to furnish it? Once the purchase of your Spanish property is underway or already complete, your thoughts will naturally move to turning your property into a home. The way in which you furnish the property will depend on whether you are planning to furnish the property for yourselves, for your friends and family or for your clients if you are intending to let for holiday rentals. The style of furnishings you choose should be dictated by what you ultimately want from the property. If you want to put your own individual stamp and character on furnishings and accessories this may inhibit your rental potential. If you are looking to maximise your rental returns then your property needs to reflect the expectations of today’s holiday maker. Holiday makers are more and more demanding and with higher volumes of rental property available, it is important that you think carefully before furnishing, to ensure that your property can compete with others available for rent. Our property management division, Resort Management have nearly 20 years experience in letting properties on behalf of our clients and know exactly what is expected. It is well worth speaking to them before purchasing to avoid any costly errors. How involved do we need to be? You can choose to be as involved as you wish. If you don’t have the time or simply don’t want the hassle, you can leave it all to us. Alternatively, if you know exactly what you want but aren’t sure where to find it, don’t worry because we will be able to help you. In January 2006 we opened a specialist showroom in our offices in Balsicas, next to the Polaris La Torre Golf Resort. In these showrooms, we have display stands of all of our major suppliers, from appliances to shower screens, beds to bikes! We can assist you in picking out fittings for an entire property or specific items depending on your requirements. Is it more expensive to buy furniture in Spain? No, most household items are roughly in line with the cost in the UK. It is not advisable to bring too many items from the UK, particularly electrical items, as it anything goes wrong the guarantee may not be valid. We also recommend viewing your property before bringing any furniture with you as room sizes can vary a lot from builders’ plans, and items such as beds may not fit. What about quality? We take great care to ensure that any supplier or product we recommend is of the highest quality available within your budget. You will find that there are items and brands that we will not sell for this reason. How much will it cost? When striving for individuality it is difficult to estimate the cost because everyone has their own likes and dislikes. Different builders may leave properties with more or less fittings included, and this may affect the overall price. We can, however, help you to work within a budget, and can furnish a typical “empty” 2 bedroom new build apartment from top to bottom from about 12000€. This includes furniture, beds, bedding, linen, curtains, light fittings, all appliances, kitchen equipment, bathroom accessories, bath screen, safety equipment etc. All of our prices include delivery and installation. What do we do next? If you would like further information on how we can assist you to create an individual home within your budget please contact us. |
